Summer Camp Recap: Filmmaking

computer programming classes nj

Grab your popcorn and soda, it’s Filmmaking Week at the South Jersey Innovation Center (SJIC)!

A followup of SJIC’s Short Video Editing class, the Filmmaking summer camp allows for children ages 8 through 14 to show off their ingenuity and stay busy during the summer months. Campers are given the opportunity to direct, act, and edit their very own short films.

None of this could be done, though, without the help of Filmmaking Camp Director Mia Matis who was ready to teach the campers the ins and outs of filmmaking. She took them through the entire storyboarding process, educated them on how to film their videos like a professional, and taught them how to use Wondershare Filmora (an editing software similar to Adobe Premiere Pro). The campers’ favorite part of the week was definitely getting to roam around SJIC and film their videos.

On the last day of camp, campers and parents all gathered together to watch everyone’s short films. The videos ranged from things like a ballet recital to a food fight. SJIC is proud of all the hard work and innovation exhibited this week.

A leading provider of STEM enrichment activities, SJIC offers the following Summer Camps: Flight Engineering, STEM Fusion, Scratch Coding and 3D Printing, Explorations in Electronics, Chess Openings, and Chess Strategy. Interested in signing up? Register Here
