It is STEM Fusion Week at South Jersey Innovation Center (SJIC)! This week’s camp is a melting pot of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics activities that bring together passionate campers ready to learn. From the moment they step into SJIC, participants are enveloped in an atmosphere teeming with excitement and energy.
Each day of camp looked at a different aspect of STEM. Camp Instructor Daniel Sorokin gave the campers the opportunity to build a bridge out of popsicle sticks and yarn, see live bees from an apiary, conduct the famous elephant toothpaste experiment, learn how to code, program their own robot, and more. All of these activities encouraged campers to think innovatively and creatively as they encountered and overcame various obstacles. The satisfaction of bringing an idea to life and witnessing its tangible impact motivates the campers to become better problem-solvers.
The campers not only expanded their knowledge in various STEM fields, but also developed critical life skills such as teamwork, communication, and resilience. The camp’s nurturing environment empowered them to think creatively, solve problems independently, and embrace the joys of learning.
A leading provider of STEM enrichment activities, SJIC offers the following Summer Camps: Scratch Coding and 3D Printing, Explorations in Electronics, Chess Openings, and Chess Strategy. Interested in signing up? Register Here.
