The South Jersey Innovation Center (SJIC) is thrilled to introduce its latest class–Stop Motion Animation! Designed for children in ages fourth to sixth grade, the class offers an immersive experience where the students delve into the captivating world of stop-motion animation.
From the initial concept to the final cut, the students will begin to grasp the intricacies of storytelling through animation. Through hands-on activities, they will learn to storyboard their ideas, bringing their narratives to life by capturing the sequences of images, manipulating objects, and creating fluid motion. Each frame becomes a building block to a larger story.
Of course, there is some editing involved in all of this. The SJIC utilizes Da Vinci Resolve, an editing software similar to Adobe Premiere Pro. Da Vinci Resolve allows the students to stick together their photos and create seamless and engaging mini-movies.
