The SJIC Introduces New Art Programs

At the South Jersey Innovation Center (SJIC), the importance of nurturing young minds through artistic expression is recognized. Art is not just about painting pretty pictures or crafting sculptures; it is a means of communication and self-expression. For children, engaging in art activities offers a myriad of benefits that contribute to their development. It enhances fine motor skills, boosts cognitive abilities, fosters self-confidence–the list goes on and on.

Therefore, the SJIC is excited to introduce its 2D Drawing class! The class will be taught by Jitumoni Goswani, a children’s book illustrator. One of the key aspects of the SJIC’s new art programs is the emphasis on storytelling through art. She will teach her students how to use tools like pencils and watercolor, texture and perspective, and other artistic skills and tools to communicate a two-dimensional message. From sketching simple shapes to creating intricate compositions, children will learn the fundamentals of visual storytelling while honing their technical skills and artistic sensibilities.

The fun does not end there, though. Goswani will also be teaching the SJIC’s new 3D sculptures class! If you’ve ever dreamed of sculpting clay masterpieces, crafting intricate paper mache creations, or exploring the world of origami, look no further. This class is designed to inspire creativity, ignite innovation, and unveil its students’ artistic potential. What makes this class truly special is the opportunity to see your ideas come to life in a tangible way.

Let’s inspire, create, and imagine together!
