Last Saturday’s annual Fall Open House gave South Jersey families the opportunity to find out what we’re all about. From math puzzles and straw rockets to remote control robots, we had an array of activities for parents and their children to explore. One of the highlights was easily at the STEM Fusion table. Children of all ages were delighted to use edible licorice and gummy bears to create a model of their DNA! We’re still unsure about what was more exciting for the kids — creating the model or eating it afterwards!
Thank you to all the families that came out, and to all of the volunteers who helped to make this year’s Open House a success. We hope to see everyone next week when our fall programs begin. Our instructors are looking forward to sharing their passion for STEM with your children.
We also were fortunate enough yet again to have celebrity guest GM Abhi Mishra in attendance after the Open House. He was kind enough to answer a number of questions as well as play over 20 people in a simul game of chess! If your child loves chess and wants to learn from a real grandmaster, absolutely be on the lookout for the next time Abhi is visiting!
