SJIC is Going from STEM to STEAM!

For years, science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education have been at the forefront of educational programs. While STEM has undoubtedly produced many groundbreaking advancements, it is not the sole driver of innovation. Artistic expression and creativity are equally vital in fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and out-of-the-box ideation.

For this reason, South Jersey Innovation Center (SJIC) is transitioning from an organization dedicated to promoting STEM to an organization dedicated to promoting science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM).

The first course of action for going STEAM is by introducing art classes to SJIC’s curriculum. For the fall session, there will be two art classes available to children in grades first through sixth: Young Artists and Art 3D Sculptures. These art classes will help students learn to express themselves, gain confidence in their artistic abilities, and develop an appreciation for the arts. Plus, it is simply a ton of fun to do art!

A leading center for STEAM instruction (including chess, coding, robotics and math), SJIC offers a variety of innovative STEAM programs for kids looking for fun and growth.
